We only set cookies if you accept them. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you are happy for us to use analytics and Facebook advertising cookies. If you press Reject, or simply ignore the banner, none are set. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the foot of every page.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, usually so it can recognise you on a later page or a later visit. Some are necessary for a site to work; most exist to measure or advertise.
Tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us, so we can improve the site. It does not tell us who you are.
If you reject cookies, Google Analytics still receives a basic, cookieless signal that a page was viewed, which cannot be linked to you or to any other visit.
Helps the club measure whether its Facebook advertising leads people to the website and to get in touch.
To remember your answer to the banner, your browser stores a single setting named tpgc_cookie_consent, holding only “granted” or “denied”. It is kept until you clear your browser’s data, and it is never sent to us or anyone else. Without it, you would be asked on every page.
Our typefaces are served by Google Fonts. No cookie is set, but requesting a font does tell Google the IP address of your device and roughly which page asked for it. If you would rather that did not happen, a browser extension that blocks third-party requests will prevent it; the site remains perfectly readable in a substitute typeface.
The club can remove this entirely by hosting the font files on its own server. We would recommend it.
The events on our home page are read from a spreadsheet held in Google Sheets. Your browser requests that file in the same way it requests an image. Nothing about you is sent, and no cookie is set.
When you submit an enquiry, it is sent from this website’s own server to the club secretary by email. It does not set a cookie, and it happens only when you press the button.
The members’ area and the tee booking button on our visitors page both link to intelligentgolf, and our contact page links to Google Maps. Both are separate services that set their own cookies once you arrive. Their policies govern what happens there, not ours.
Use the Cookie Settings link at the foot of any page to bring the banner back and choose again. To remove cookies already set, clear them in your browser’s settings.
Should the club add any other cookie-setting service, this page will be updated to list what is set, what it does and how long it lasts, and you will be asked again before it runs.
